…times that will never come again

When I used to go to the primary school, waiting for the school bus ..playing in the mud..in the rain…..playing with my doll …dressing her up.stitching her dresses…

I used to love her lot ..used to keep her with me..Going to school was not an issue if it was a singing class or perhaps games(though i did not play any of them except cricket).watching tv for the whole night at new year eve..wow It was fun
..It was so pure so innocent..so very mine..no need to think what the whole world thinks about you ..so free.

But again life was never as its now..It keeps on getting better!

Whats your mood today?

A dream:)

I dream of a dream coming true,

the day when we will Undo our make up and masks,

and do all the beautiful tasks,

why should i bribe,when i earn a day meal?

when i have a house ,why should i steal?

Lets not think high of ourselves and be humble in every way,

Lets not only talk but also listen everyday,

Lets not make our life revolve around fashion,

But to live in harmony and compassion,

There would be peace alround,

where no hungry and thirsty people are found,

This dream is only a vision there are so many things to do,

but the question is “Will i DO?”

And again I dream of a dream coming true!

Azaadiyan kahan apney ghonsle ki

aazaadiyaan kahaan vo ab apane ghonsale kii
(that freedom of my nest)
apanii Khushii se aanaa apanii Khushii se jaanaa
(that coming and going as one pleased)

Seems Sir Iqbal had written this for kashmir .It suits our way of living these days ..You are not free to leave from our home If u have a deal in curfew or there is no hartal then you are lucky enough.Else stay in the four walls of your house doing just nothing! Innocent people walking on roads getting thrashed by the police and CRPF Troopers .Troops getting inside houses and beating women. When your home is not safe for you ,the adversity is so visible. When children going to school are shot by the armed forces(A girl was shot by the gunmen
:GK article) :

Even elderly people are beaten. An incident which i heard some days ago.A boy of 12 standard from one of the reputed missionary schools in the valley ..goes out to buy some grocery(/stuff).Some protets were going around the area.Within a nano second a bullet passes his eyes .And he loses them forever. In the school morning prayer everyone prays for his eyes..Eyes!! for God sake !!!What was his fault? Will his eyes be given back by the government ?No, government will watch it just as another painful incident!

I don’t know why they are doing it, has their moral conscience betrayed them.. sometimes i ask myself????

Ramadhan Mubarak@kashmir

In all this fuss of curfews and hartals , Ramadhan has come as a spiritual bliss for us all.RAMDHAN-the word that brings discipline in us.Fasting ,Praying, zakaat (that giving away a part of our wealth to the poor),no lies and all good deeds.

Dates and “Babri byol ” ( milk with coconut and basil seeds/ sabja used as a drink in kashmir) symbolizes Ramdhan here .I usually add rooh afza to it..Yummy!! looks like this :

This resembles the Falooda i had at juhu beach in mumbai.Falooda is much richer with ice cream and noodles with it..

okok now that i am deviating from my topic.Apart from “babri byol” there are many new terms we get familiar with during ramdhan in kashmir:

Like duhul khav(one who does not fast), tap sahar(one who eats at daytime in ramzan is supposed to have tap sahar),Rozdar(one who fasts),sahar khan(one who beats a typical drum to wake up people before dawn),khazar(dates) ,Tarawee: (special evening prayer after the last prayer of the night. It lasts about two hours) and many more.😀

There are so many things we learn from ramdhan .The most important being patience.I will miss ramdhan in kashmir..

Don’t Compare!

No one can be compared to anybody .Every one is a different entity!

Being simply yourself is altogether not so simple.
